The Ontario government has announced it will be investing in a new crisis call diversion program that will see a mental health and addictions worker employed in every OPP communications centre.To do this, the province will be investing $8.4 million over a period of three years, Solicitor General Sylvia Jones said during the announcement on June 22.It is now commonplace for police to respond to thousands of mental health and addictions-related calls every year, Jones said.
