Project IGI (I'm Going In) is one of the most iconic tactical shooter games from the early 2000s, known for its realistic gameplay and complex mission structure. Developed by Innerloop Studios and published by Eidos Interactive in 2000, IGI quickly became a fan favorite due to its unique emphasis on stealth, strategy, and large open environments. While other first-person shooters of that era focused on fast-paced gunplay, IGI stood out by demanding patience, planning, and precision from players. Even decades after its release, the game continues to enjoy a loyal fan base and remains a popular title for download among retro gaming enthusiasts.The history of Project IGI is closely tied to Innerloop Studios’ previous work. The developers adapted their in-house flight simulation engine, originally used in the game Joint Strike Fighter, to create IGI’s immersive and expansive environments.
