The number of people being treated for COVID-19 in Haltons hospitals almost doubled in the past week.There are currently 51 people in Haltons four hospitals being treated for COVID-19, up from 26 the same time last week. Of those 14 were admitted for COVID-19 with the remaining 37 being admitted for other reasons but later testing positive for COVID-19.The number jumped significantly between Dec. 11-13, going from 30 to 52 over those two days. That matched the highest number of people being treated for COVID-19 in the regions hospital since the first days of March. The region also reported four deaths over the past week, three in Oakville and one in Milton.
