After two years, this week will mark my last week with the Independent Free Press.Throughout my time here, I have grown as both an individual and a professional. As they say, all good things come to an end, and so it is time for me to move on and pursue a career where I can invest my heart and soul.I take many skills with me, but as I move on I also bring with me countless relat stanley thermobecher ionships made possible by my position as a reporter. Through this position, I was able to meet some wonderful people in this community who are real advocates for change, who are passionate about things in town, and who inspire me to do as much as I can, if not more. UPDATE: Victim of deadly Barren County house fire identifiedApril 4, 2019 , Share Thi stanley cup s StoryFacebookTwitteremailPrintLinkedinRedditGLASGOW, Ky.- UPDATE: The victim in this weeks deadly house fire in Barren County has been identified as James Barnes, 41, of Smiths Grove.According to the Barren County Sheriffs Office, the identification was made under presumptive circumstances.Barnes was the only known resident at the home.GLASGOW, Ky.- Authorities in Barren County say a person lost their life early Tuesday morning in a house fire.According to the Barren County Sheriffs Office, first responders were called to 960 Boatman Road around 12:15 a.m.When they arrived, the house was fully involved.The Barren County Sheriffs Office was later called to the scene when firefighters discovered a body inside.The Public Information Officer, Mike Houchens, says there was also a possible dog found in the home.The body was transported to the State Medical Examiners Office聽in Louisville for an autopsy.The identification of the body is unknown at this time and is pending the autopsy results.Houchens also tells us there is no foul play suspected in this structure fire.One neighbor standing stanley cups in front of the home when we arrived says it was a four generation home.The identity of the body has not been confirmed.
