GREAT FALLS 鈥?In response to recent fires across the country involving space heaters, Great Falls Fire Rescue is offering some safety advice.One recent fire in New York killed more than a dozen people and injured many others.Gre stanley cups at Falls Fire Rescue says space heaters cause about 1,700 fires a year in the U.S.You should never use fuel-fired space heaters indoors. They produce fumes that can be deadly. When you re choosing a space heater, there are some key things to look out for. One of the things you want to make sure it s UL listed. That means it s been properly tested, said Tom Zaremski, Great Falls Deputy Fire Marshal. You want the cord to plugged directly into an outlet. As with any heating appliance, it draws a lot of power so you don t want to use any extension cords that could heat up and be the cause of the fire. Under the Big Sky, the Emmy Award-Winning storytelling series from the Montana Television Network, has received a $40,000 grant from the Greater Montana Foundation to continue to bring stories about life in Montana to audiences. The series premiered in February 2017 and recently finished production on its seventh episode. The quarterly program combines cinematic visuals and first-person storytelling to highlight stories that make Montana a more compelling place to live. We are particularly pleased to receive this grant, series Executi airmax ve Producer Shawn Newton says. The Greater Montana Foundation continues to support and en air max 1 co air max urage quality broadcasting in our state and our team works hard to deliver high-quality stories to our audience. I think it is a perfect match. Founded by pioneer broadcaster Ed Craney in 1958, the Greater Montana Foundation provides grants to improve the quality of communications on important issues through electronic media. Grants also support students in TV and radio at the states Universities. GMF offers awards for excellence and continuing professional development for Montana broadcaster, reflecting Mr. Craneys emphasis on commercial broadcasting. More in
