Houchen stanley cup s Industries, Inc. and several stanley mug other local companies announced a program today to assist tornado victims whose damage costs were not covered by insurance.The Bridge the Gap program has been put together by Houchens Industries, Inc. and local companies, who gave significant donations to help those impacted by the December tornadoes. So far, the effort has close to $800,000 already, but they are seeking more funds to reach a goal of $1 million.Additional partners in the program have included American Bank and Trust, BKD LLP, Franklin Bank and Trust, Fruit of the Loom, Inc., Houchens Insurance Group, Independence Bank, Jasper Engine and Transmissions and Reynolds Sealing and Striping.The assistance is mainly targeted toward owner occupied homes, their contents and their cars. The fund, which has a goal of one million dollars, is to be administered through disaster case management with United Way of Southern Kentucky.Houchens ; CEO Dion Houchins met with Judge Executive Mike Buchanon to assess the needs of tornado ravaged areas, and the gap in what insurance covers and what repairs or rebuilding actually costs was identified as a huge problem.The goal of everyone involved is to rebuild our community to be as vibrant as it was in those communities before the tornadoes happened, said
