WHITEHORSE 鈥?An Alaskan musher has won his third title in the 35th Yukon Quest internationa stanley thermosflasche l dog sled race.Allen Moore of Two Rivers, Alaska, crossed the finish line in Whitehorse on Tuesday morning with a time of nine days, 18 hours and 53 minutes.The 60-year-old musher finished the more than 1,600-kilometre race with a full team of 14 dogs. ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW Moore has competed in the event eight times. His victories in 2013 and 2014 marked the two quickest finishing times in Quest history.This year finish was just outside the top 10 in speed, but with brutal cold conditions throughout the race, Moore said it was good enough for the top spot. The only thing you had to deal with was the cold.Moore said his dogs Commando and Dutch stayed in the lead position for 90 per cent of the race, pacing the way to his victory. The City of Bowling Green welcomed eight new officers today after they graduated from the Bowling Green Law Enforcement Academy.The Bowling Green Police Department says the new officers from class three will begin their patrol training next week. The City of Bowling Green stated this will include 16-week field training with a police training officer.After they complete training, the new officers will receive an assigned patrol shift.During today ceremony, a procession traveled from the Bowling stanley cup Green Police Department to The Capitol Arts Center, where each officer took the oath of office. Following this, a family me stanley cup usa mber pinned their badge to their uniform.In addition, former BGPD chiefs Bill Waltrip and Doug Hawkins participated in the event.Today class included the following: officer Maddie Alexander, officer Cole Petty, officer Tyler Staten, officer Dawson McDaniel, officer Ryan Butler, officer Brandon Hughes, officer Max Mueller and officer Andrew Khai.The city says officer Hughes is the fourth member of the Hughes family stanley vaso to be a member of the department.
