MONTREAL鈥擰uebecs annual two-week construction holiday is in full swing, and with many Quebecers staying closer to home this summer because of COVID-19, towns in the Gaspe region are seeing an influx of tourists drawn to the charming seaside landscapes.But the mayor of Gaspe, Que., a popular tourist destination on the Gaspe peninsulas eastern coast, is concerned some visitors are camping anywhere they find space, harming the environment and upsetting locals. The KSP Special Response team was activated.Negotiations with the man lasted several hours before the man, Alex Yuhas, 59 of Pikeville, was apprehended.Alex Yuhas, 59 of PikevilleKSP says the initial investigation shows an altercation took place between Yuhas and his mother Paulette Mullins, 75 of Pikeville.The altercation led to Mullins suffering a fatal gunshot wound.The Pike County Coronerrsquo Office pronounced Mullins dead at the scene. Mullinsrsquo; body was transported to the State Medical Examinerrsquo Office for an autopsy.Yuhas is charged with Murder-Domestic Violence, Terroristic Threaten stanley drinking cup ing, and Assault 3rd Degree.
