OTTAWA 鈥?The federal government is adding $600 million to a fund to help small- and medium-sized businesses weather the COVID-19 pandemic, Economic Development Minister Melanie Joly said Friday.The announcement brings total support through the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund to more than $1.5 billion.The government says the fund has already helped more than 12,000 businesses struggling because of the pandemic, which has hit everything from main street boutiques to hotels and restaurants. But now the live performances can finally go on at Circus Square Park in downtown Bowling Green.聽They added an extra day this year so there are 12 Friday performances until Sept. 10. Four of the bands are new to the event, and three of them are coming from out of town.Ron Murphy, director of the Downtown Redevelopment Authority, says why people in the community keep coming back every year.聽 Theyre free for one thing. Theyre quality, for a second, and family-oriented for third. And theyre long-lived. People just look forward to them every year.
